shockwavetherapy

Shockwave Therapy is an Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) is a non-invasive option for the treatment of various pains and diseases of the musculoskeletal system.

The shock waves used are short sound pulses that can penetrate water and soft tissue. The shock waves are generated outside the body (extracorporeally) in the handpiece of the device and transmitted into the patient’s body by means of ultrasound gel, where they have a targeted effect on the painful areas.

  • High energy acoustic shock waves
  • Non-invasive
  • Non-electrical

Muscle Pain

In many cases, muscle pain is a inflammation consequence such as tendinitis and bursitis.
Shock waves have the ability to deflate muscle tissues. Therefore, is very effective way to deal with muscle inflammation and the pain it causes.

Healing and Postoperative

Mechanical sound waves accelerate tissue cell recovery. This helps in bone recovery after orthopedic surgeries.
In addition, they also help to reduce the incidence of fibrosis in surgical scars.

Fracture Treatment

Due to factors such as lifestyle habits and comorbidities, some people may have problems with bone regeneration, making it difficult to recover from fractures.
With this procedure, the fracture healing process can be accelerated. In this way, we avoid problems associated with poor healing, such as pseudarthrosis.

Treatment of Arthritis

Another use of shock wave therapy is to decrease cartilage inflammation and control joint wear and tear.
This is especially useful for older patients, who may experience a significant improvement in quality of life from shockwaves.
